Hi, I’m Kally..
Mama to two daughters that are 15 months a part. They keep me very busy and always have me cracking up. Being a mom is hands down the best job title I’ve had. Because of that, I am pushing pause on Flynn Fotography for a while to enjoy being a mom.
More on me..
I was born and raised in Juneau, AK and have 3 sisters.
I have 10+ years of experience as a professional photographer, 10+ years in tourism businesses, and 20+ years in the service industry.
I have a potty mouth, but am working on it (kind of).
I have traveled to 23 countries and have about 35 left on my list to check off.
I am a bargain hunter extraordinaire and love thrifting.
My brain organizes thoughts in bullet points and I am a big time list maker.
I can recite the majority of all Austin Powers movies but I assure you, I am a grown up.
I am addicted to sugar. My nightly ritual is M&M’s washed down with more M&M’s. It’s gross, but I’m invested.
I live in old crocs and my kids live in pajamas.
How did photography come about?
For as long as I can remember, I have had a camera in my hands, constantly documenting, observing, and preserving moments. In my mid-twenties, I set out on a six-month journey abroad. Before leaving, I hired a very technically skilled photographer to give me a crash course in manual mode, an hour that completely shifted the way I saw photography.
From that day forward, I shot in manual mode, giving me both control and creative freedom. My travels began in Kenya, where I spent six weeks volunteering at an orphanage. Time seemed to slow down, and every moment felt like a photograph waiting to be captured. From there, I moved through the Czech Republic, Italy, and eventually Thailand.
When I returned home, I launched Flynn Fotography. I see things differently through the camera. Time goes by so fast, and photography allows you to relive these moments for a lifetime and that’s priceless.
