Frequently Asked Questions

Couple during engagement session laying in grass.

What should we wear?

Generally speaking: Minimal/simple patterns and earth/neutral tones. Avoid bright or florescent colors, and busy bold patterns. Try to stay away from reds and pinks. Baseball hats are a no, big logo t-shirts are usually a no, sunglasses are a no, and I generally discourage high heels. Choose shoes that you can walk easily in. There is a good chance we will be climbing on rocks, hopping over puddles and navigating soggy grass. Oh, SEAK.

Pack a bag, bring lots of options and together we will come up with a few that work well together for you as a couple, the environment we are shooting in and the vibe we are going for.

Think about what season we are in. If it is a fall/winter shoot, short sleeves are not the greatest option. You will be freezing and it just doesn’t make sense. A big chunky sweater and a cute hat makes sense and will keep you more comfortable. Layers, layers and more layers.

Above all else, I want you to be comfortable in your own skin and be yourself. I want to photograph who you really are, not who you think you should be. If dressing up is your thing, then do that. If you are more casual and live in leggings or jeans, wear that.

How do I get my photos and how long does it take?

Files are delivered via digital download. You will receive a password protected link where you can view and save your photos. This link can be easily shared. Files will be available to you for up to 6 months. I highly encourage you to download them immediately and back them up to a second location.

How long do I quote that it will take or how long does it actually take? I like to give myself some room in the contract and quote 8-12 weeks, because sometimes life happens and unexpected turns of events come up. More often than not you will be receiving them within a month or so, depending on the length of your wedding. Engagement and family sessions are quoted at 4-6 weeks. Length of turn around time will change with the time or year, how many daycare shut downs I am dealing with because of Covid and how much attention the two crazy toddlers are requiring.

How does the booking process work?

There will be a non-refundable retainer fee at the time of booking that will be put towards your total package price, as well as a signed digital contract. Both of these steps are an industry standard. The contract may seem lengthy but there is a lot of information in there not only for me but also for you. This is for those absolutely worst case scenarios that fingers crossed never happen, but if they do all of our ducks are in a row. Once we get all the business side of things out of the way, that is when all the fun starts. Lots of texting, brainstorming ideas and inappropriate jokes.

Can I post my photos to the medias?

Yes, please do. I love when clients use their photos! My big ask here (and per our contract) is that you do not alter the photos by editing them prior to posting or printing. If there is something about the photos editing that you don’t like or you want to see it in black and white, text me. Also, tagging me on Instagram or Facebook is a huge help in growing my business, so any shoutouts there are always appreciated.
