Adventurous Helicopter Elopement in Ketchikan, Alaska

This was one of the more memorable helicopter landings I’ve done with wedding clients! The weather was so iffy that day and there was a very good chance that they were not going to fly at all, so we were so happy when our rad chick pilot Heather decided to make it work. We knew going in that we were going to have limited options on where we would be able to land, if we could land at all. Heather found and awesome flat spot surrounded by mountains for us to land. She left the Heli fired up and told us that we had just a few minutes, and if we heard the engine noise start to build that meant it was time to go. The weather moves so quickly here. Once we made it out of the heli the energy was so high. So many laughs, screams, sighs, hugs, kisses and just pure and utter joy. In total I think we were shooting for about 10 minutes before we got the signal it was time to roll out. Such a great experience, so happy to have been a part of it.
